Most digital marketers often ignore Instagram because they think Instagram is not really profitable. The Instagram ad network is new and untested. Marketers are simply not sure if people are willing to buy products or services while using Instagram. Often, Instagram is used only occasionally, when sitting on the train or waiting somewhere. Users scroll through their feed and look at pictures or stories from their friends or superstars. In doing so, it is not possible for the pictures or videos to contain a link. Facebook, for example, has the advantage over Instagram in that you can send a direct link to the public with every post you make, whereas on Instagram you can only ever upload a picture or video and then link to the bio, where the link is then located. This makes it somewhat complicated and unattractive.
However, there are a lot of people who make a lot of money on Instagram. I don’t just mean superstars like Gigi Hadid, but also rather unknown influencers, online stores or agencies. One reason for this is that there is simply not that much competition. Even unknown people can become influencers and new businesses can build a brand without spending a lot of money. What does it all come down to? With Instagram, one thing counts above all: high-quality content, which is why you have to approach Instagram completely differently than Twitter, TikTok, or Facebook, for example.
There’s really no limit to how much you can earn, as Instagram has millions of users worldwide. You could create accounts in different niches for different countries and start scaling properly. You could also become an influencer yourself, earning more followers and therefore more money. Anything is possible.
That depends entirely on you and your skills. For me, it’s a piece of cake because I know which niches are profitable, how to create multiple accounts, how to get lots of followers, what kind of content you need and how to monetize your reach or followers afterward. I taught myself all of this and mostly by reading and trying. If I can do it, surely you can too.
We live in the golden age. On the internet, it doesn’t matter if you’re 16 years old and from India or if you’re 30 years old and from Switzerland. And no, this is not “motivational” bullshit. It’s the truth. If you were born in the 80s or earlier, you were bound to work in a regular job unless you were an artist, athlete or musician. There were virtually no alternatives. Nowadays, all information is freely available on the Internet. You can learn anything, anytime. For example, you could learn how to program apps, then develop and monetize them. No one is stopping you.
Think about it for a second, there are heaps of people who:
…and the list goes on forever. There are really countless methods.
Example: you want to sell phone cases or accessories? No problem, with Instagram you can reach tons of people. Best of all, every one of them has a smartphone because they use Instagram. For example, you could set up your own dropshipping store and drive traffic to it through Instagram.
Do you have a business that specializes in jewelry for animal lovers? No problem, create a profile for that niche and start selling.
Seems too easy? No, it’s just as simple. The audience is there, you just need to get started.
